Support the Future of Thinking at Bialik College

In 2025 Bialik College proudly celebrates 20 years of Cultures of Thinking, an educational approach developed in collaboration with Harvard University’s Project Zero. This initiative, which began in 2005, has transformed teaching and learning, making student thinking visible, valued, and actively promoted. With the generous support of Vera and Abe Dorevitch, Bialik pioneered a school-wide culture that developed into a global pedagogical practice leading to published research, international conferences, and implementation by schools, universities, and institutions.

For Bialik students, the impact of this approach extends far beyond the classrooms, cultivating a life-long skillset that supports innovation and invention. It fosters dispositions that promote critical thinking and a growth mindset, essential for success in everyday life. For classrooms to be cultures of thinking for students, schools must also be cultures of thinking for educators. Bialik prioritises ongoing professional learning, including mentorship programs, workshops, and participation in Harvard’s prestigious Project Zero Classroom Summer Institute, honouring our commitment to create a culture of thinking across the college and be at the forefront of educational research. Our current research collaborations with Harvard explore how learning environments shape student development, while new projects like The REACH Project and Transformative Repair seek to deepen our understanding of mindsets, resilience, and creativity.

The impact of this work is immeasurable and its success depends on community support. By contributing to the future of this approach to education it will ensure Bialik College remains a global leader in educational research and best practice. Your generosity empowers students, supports educators, and drives innovation that influences learning worldwide.
